The rules of the road for using INTENTION.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and SALT VICE VENTURES ("INTENTION," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the INTENTION website, apps, and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

INTENTION is an evidence platform that organizes publicly available information about fashion brands and labels each claim as either Publicly Verified or Brand Claim. We are not a certifier, auditor, rating agency, or standards body. We do not endorse, guarantee, or validate any brand as "good," "ethical," "sustainable," or otherwise. You are responsible for your own purchasing decisions.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or the minimum age required in your country). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at founder@theintention.app if you suspect unauthorized use.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content from the Service without written permission.
• Reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
• Submit false, misleading, or infringing evidence about any brand.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or target any person or business.
• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or third-party right.
• Abuse Scout or any AI feature (e.g. spam prompts, prompt injection, attempts to extract training data).

Evidence, summaries, brand profiles, and Scout responses are provided for informational purposes only. We work hard to cite public sources accurately, but we cannot guarantee that every fact is current or complete. A "Brand Claim" label means we have not independently verified the statement. Always confirm anything material to your decision at the source we link to.

If you submit documentation, evidence, feedback, or other content to INTENTION (including through our "For brands" form), you represent that you have the right to share it and you grant SALT VICE VENTURES a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and reference it as part of the Service, including citing the underlying public source. You retain ownership of your content.

INTENTION may earn a commission when you click a brand link and make a purchase. Commissions never influence how a brand's evidence is labeled. Whether a brand pays a commission or not, the same public-source standard applies.

The Service links to third-party brands, retailers, certifications, news outlets, and other sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products, or practices. Your dealings with any brand or retailer are solely between you and them.

The Service, including its design, code, editorial writing, evidence organization, and the INTENTION name and logo, is owned by SALT VICE VENTURES and protected by intellectual property laws. Brand names, logos, and product images belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and factual reference.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing founder@theintention.app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY BRAND EVIDENCE IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SALT VICE VENTURES AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SALT VICE VENTURES and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email or a notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
